1. Our Commitment
ProMediate (UK) Limited is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including disabled users and those using assistive technology.
Access to justice depends on access to information. We therefore treat website accessibility as part of our wider commitment to a fair, inclusive and proportionate Alternative Dispute Resolution service.
2. Accessibility Standard
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA. These international guidelines explain how to make web content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
Where full compliance is not yet achieved, we will take reasonable steps to provide the same information or service by an alternative means.
3. Accessibility Features
This website has been designed and built to include the following features:
Clear headings and structure
Pages use a logical heading order and semantic landmarks so screen reader users can navigate quickly.
Keyboard navigation
All interactive elements can be reached and operated using a keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
Readable text
Plain English wording, generous line spacing and text that can be resized in the browser without loss of content.
Responsive design
The site adapts to mobile phones, tablets and desktop screens, and works in portrait or landscape.
Colour and contrast
Text and interface colours are chosen to meet contrast requirements, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
Descriptive links and labels
Links, buttons and form fields are clearly labelled, with alternative text provided for meaningful images.
In addition:
- content is written in plain English, avoiding legal jargon wherever possible;
- documents and policies are published as web pages so they can be read by assistive technology;
- forms provide clear instructions and helpful error messages;
- the site can be used with the browser zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
4. Continual Review and Improvement
We continually review and improve the accessibility of this website. Accessibility is considered whenever new pages, forms or documents are published, and this Statement is reviewed at least annually.
Feedback from consumers, traders and representatives is an important part of that review, and we act on issues reported to us as promptly as we reasonably can.
5. Requesting Alternative Formats
If you need any of our information in a different format, please contact us. We can normally provide documents in:
- large print;
- accessible PDF or plain text;
- an easy-read or simplified summary;
- coloured paper or alternative fonts;
- another reasonable format that meets your needs.
Please tell us which format you need and we will confirm what we can provide and how long it will take. There is no charge for alternative formats.
6. Reasonable Adjustments to the ADR Process
Accessibility is not limited to this website. We will make reasonable adjustments to the way the ADR process is conducted so that you can take part fully and fairly. Adjustments may include:
- extra time to respond or to provide documents;
- communicating by email, letter, telephone or online meeting according to your preference;
- shorter sessions or scheduled breaks;
- allowing a family member, carer, advocate or representative to assist you;
- written summaries of discussions and outcomes;
- support for language, literacy or communication needs.
You can ask for an adjustment at any stage, and you do not need to provide medical evidence to do so. Further examples are set out on our Accessibility & Reasonable Adjustments page.
7. Known Limitations
Some documents supplied to us by third parties, such as scanned correspondence or evidence provided by parties to a dispute, may not be fully accessible because we did not create them. If you receive such a document and cannot read it, contact us and we will provide the content in an accessible form.
8. Reporting an Accessibility Issue
If you experience any difficulty using this website, or if you find content that is not accessible, please tell us. Where possible include:
- the web address of the page concerned;
- a description of the problem;
- the device, browser or assistive technology you were using.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five working days and to explain what we will do to put things right.
